MINISTER VARANK: KİPAŞ HOLDING CREATES SIGNIFICANT EMPLOYMENT

As part of his visit to Kahramanmaraş, Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank attended the opening ceremony of the Kipaş Textile Modern Weaving Facility, which will begin operations under Kipaş Holding, the pride of both Kahramanmaraş and the region.

Minister Varank toured the facility together with protocol members and journalists, receiving detailed information about the facility from Kipaş Holding Chairman of the Board, Mr. M. Hanefi Öksüz.

Chairman of the Board M. Hanefi Öksüz stated: “Kipaş has made extraordinary efforts over the last 20 years for the industrialization of our country. The facility we are inaugurating today is a very important one. We are delighted to bring such a facility to our city and our country. This is the largest facility in Europe operating under a single roof. It will produce 120,000 meters of fabric daily. Textile is one of the key sectors of our group. We generate a turnover of over half a million dollars. All of our machines are state-of-the-art. We've undergone a restructuring process, and while the advanced technology of the machines is important, the safety of our employees is even more crucial. As we celebrate our 38th year, we are renovating all our older buildings to be larger and compliant with the latest regulations.”

“IF A SOLDIER IS WOUNDED, THE SYSTEM WILL SEND A REPORT TO THE COMPUTER.”

“We also produce fabrics for the defense industry. Our latest production will commence with approval from the Ministry of Defense once it passes the security investigation. We’ve developed a bulletproof fabric with special features. If a soldier is wounded, it can transmit the injury data and coordinates to the command center via a computer system,” he said.

Minister Varank, who later cut the opening ribbon with protocol members, made the following statements to the press: “Kipaş is a company that significantly contributes to reducing Turkey’s current account deficit. The Holding is the largest in Turkey in the textile and weaving sector. Today, we inaugurated a newly established facility during our visit to Kahramanmaraş. This facility can weave 120,000 square meters of fabric per day, which is truly an impressive figure. In total, the facility will handle 200,000 square meters, adding significant capacity at once. It’s a company capable of serious exports and plays a crucial role in reducing our country’s current account deficit. It also provides substantial employment in Kahramanmaraş, helping many hardworking people provide for their families,” he said.
