Fatih D\u00d6NMEZ, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, paid a visit to Ken-Jes 1 Plant, owned by Kipa\u015f Holding in Ayd\u0131n. The visit was attended by Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Abdullah TANCAN, AKP Ayd\u0131n Members of Parliament Mustafa SAVA\u015e, R\u0131za POZACI, Metin YAVUZ, Ayd\u0131n Governor H\u00fcseyin AKSOY, and AKP provincial and district chairpersons. <\/p>\n
During the meeting, Ahmet \u00d6KS\u00dcZ, Vice Chairman of Kipa\u015f Holding\u2019s Board and Vice President of the Energy Group, provided Minister Fatih D\u00d6NMEZ and his team with detailed information about Kipa\u015f Holding and its geothermal investments. \u00d6KS\u00dcZ stated that the total geothermal investment by Kipa\u015f Holding\u2019s Energy Group in Ayd\u0131n amounts to USD 829,960,726, and that currently, there are 10 plants across 4 different fields with a total installed capacity of 228.8 MW. He also reported that in 2020, the group\u2019s geothermal plants produced 972,048,000 kWh of electricity, covering 39% of Ayd\u0131n province\u2019s consumption of 2,490,079,000 kWh in 2020.<\/p>\n
In a press conference held in front of the Ken JES 1 plant, Minister Fatih D\u00d6NMEZ said:\n\u201cOur environmental regulations are very clear, and we enforce them with zero tolerance. However, while acting in accordance with environmental regulations, there are groups who try to defame these plants, facilities, and investments. We will respond to these by presenting all scientific research and data, saying \u2018What you claim is not true. You are giving incorrect information. This is the truth.\u2019 As you know, Ayd\u0131n is a homeland for figs. God has given us beautiful nature, and for a few years, attempts have been made to create perceptions that these plants negatively affect figs. But last year, fig production reached a record high. If that were true, could we have broken this production record? There is no problem with quality either. There are also claims that these plants cause some diseases. We have discussed this with authorities, and there is no adverse development in Ayd\u0131n\u2019s health conditions comparing before and after the establishment of these plants. Let\u2019s not mislead people, and share the truth with our citizens.\u201d<\/p>\n
