A ROLE MODEL IN SUSTAINABILITY: KIPAS TEXTILES

Co-organized by Kipaş Textiles and Orbit Consulting, the “Sustainability Talks – Sustainable Textile Conference” held in Istanbul brought together key topics such as traceability and social compliance procedures, eco-friendly raw materials, transparency in the supply chain, environmentally conscious designs, and the journey towards a sustainable future in the textile industry. Participants showed great interest in the innovative projects and successful initiatives developed by Kipaş Textiles, a subsidiary of our Holding, in the field of sustainable production. Commenting on the event, Mr. Halit Gümüşer, General Manager of Kipaş Textiles and Member of the Board of Directors at Kipaş Holding, stated: “With this event, we had the opportunity to explore what has been done and what more can be done for sustainability both in Turkey and globally, as well as the challenges we face. It was also a great chance for us to present our highly appreciated work and share our proposals for a better world. As you know, Kipaş Textiles adopts a production policy that is respectful to nature and the environment, and integrates sustainability with advanced technology at every stage. For us, preserving nature and protecting future generations comes before everything else. Our goal is to expand sustainable textile production both in Turkey and around the world.” Mr. Gümüşer also emphasized the importance of sourcing sustainable raw materials for sustainable fashion: “There are many examples of this around the world. Various brands publish their own sustainability standards. When raw materials and yarns are chosen in accordance with these standards—ensuring fabrics are produced with less water consumption and minimal environmental impact—they become sustainable products. At the same time, social compliance must also be ensured. Only when all these aspects are met together can truly sustainable textile products emerge.”
