Our factory will provide employment for 1,000 people and indirectly create job opportunities for 4,000 more.
Our group is establishing Europe’s largest paper production facility in Söke. Our plant, which has the highest paper production capacity in Europe, will begin operations by the end of the year. The factory will provide employment for 1,000 people and indirectly create job opportunities for 4,000 more.
Our General Coordinator at Maren Energy, Aydoğan Oral, announced: “The factory that Kipaş established in the Söke Organized Industrial Zone covers 310,000 square meters, with 200,000 square meters of indoor space. It will end $300 million worth of paper imports and achieve $225 million in exports.” Oral added, “Our facility will produce 600,000 tons of cardboard, mainly from recycled waste paper, for use in the packaging sector. With additional investments, production will reach 730,000 tons of cardboard. We will continue to turn our country's energy into investments and write new success stories.” Oral also emphasized that the factory, which produces its own energy and meets its water needs from wells opened in Büyük Menderes and Bağarası, consists of four main buildings: the paper machine, power plant, raw water treatment facility, and wastewater treatment plant. The factory will manufacture 100% recycled waste paper products, preventing the destruction of 6,000 hectares of forest annually. He also shared that work has begun on establishing a packaging printing facility following this investment. Kipaş Paper Factory Project Manager Abdürrahim Karamanlı addressed local concerns regarding water use: “We will reuse our treated water repeatedly. Our water tests show that the quality of our treated water is better than that of the Menderes River. Instead of drawing more water from the Menderes, we will send our discharged water back for treatment. The system is designed accordingly. None of our operations are done secretly from the government; we operate with state approval. It is impossible for us to act without the permission of our government.”
