The Istanbul Textile and Raw Materials Exporters’ Association (İTHİB) honored successful exporters who contributed to Turkey’s $10 billion textile exports in 2020. At the award ceremony held for companies that significantly supported textile exports, Kipaş Tekstil, one of Turkey’s largest integrated production facilities based in Kahramanmaraş, ranked 10th among the top 15 recipients of the Platinum Award, while Kipaş Pazarlama, which handles Kipaş Holding’s export operations, ranked 7th.
THE ONLY FIRM FROM KAHRAMANMARAŞ IN THE TOP 10
At the “İTHİB Value Creators in Export” award ceremony, a total of 470 companies received Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards — with 35 Platinum, 59 Gold, 74 Silver, and 302 Bronze — while 652 companies received achievement certificates. The top three positions were taken by Ak-Pa Tekstil, Kordsa Teknik Tekstil, and Zorlu Dış Ticaret. Kipaş Tekstil and Kipaş Pazarlama, subsidiaries of Kipaş Holding, stood out by securing high ranks, continuing to be a source of pride for Kahramanmaraş.
A PIONEER OF SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTION
Employing over 11,000 people, Kipaş Tekstil operates with an annual fabric production capacity of 80 million meters and a daily yarn output of 330 tons. With approximately 6,000 employees, the company applies high-tech, sustainable production practices. Through its fully integrated facilities — covering technical textiles, yarn, weaving, denim, and dye-finishing — Kipaş Tekstil exports to numerous global destinations.
As a leader in sustainable production, Kipaş Tekstil was also the main sponsor of this year’s Sustainable Textile Conferences held in Istanbul and Dublin, Ireland in November.
RETURNING TO NATURE WHAT IT TAKES FROM IT
Earlier this year, under the leadership of Kipaş Holding Chairman Hanefi Öksüz and Kahramanmaraş Governor Ömer Faruk Coşkun, Kipaş Holding signed a protocol with the Kahramanmaraş Regional Directorate of Forestry for a “500,000 Tree Donation Project.” Due to recent natural disasters in the country, saplings were redirected to the affected areas. Additionally, 2 million TL in extra donations brought the company’s total environmental contribution to 7 million TL.
WE WILL CONTINUE TO BE THE PRIDE OF THIS CITY
Kipaş Holding Chairman Mehmet Hanefi Öksüz made the following statement:
“Despite the challenges brought by the pandemic, we have consistently remained committed to progress and success. With our family of 11,000 employees across six main sectors — especially in textiles and paper — we are continuously expanding our investments and employment. Our achievements are rooted in our investments in R&D, our high-tech and sustainable operations, and our respectful approach toward nature and the environment. Above all, we take ownership of our work with a strong sense of family. In short, we will continue to produce, create jobs, and contribute to our country. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to every member of the Kipaş family whose efforts take us to greater heights and who significantly support our national economy.”
