Our group has continued its success by placing four companies in total on the 2020 Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ISO) 500 list, with one company ranking in the top 100.
Our group, which bases its production and service approach on 100% customer satisfaction, high technology use, respect for the environment and nature, sustainability, and R&D efforts, and also carries out social projects in many fields besides production and employment, once again made its mark on the ISO 500 list.
Since 1984, transferring its experience from textiles to energy, paper, cement, logistics, and education sectors, our company—one of the most important in Kahramanmaraş and Turkey with over 11,000 employees and revenue exceeding 1 billion dollars across six main sectors—ranked 99th in the ISO 500 list with Kipaş Mensucat, while Kipaş Kağıt Sanayi İşletmeleri A.Ş ranked 214th, KÇS Kahramanmaraş Çimento Beton Sanayi ve Madencilik İşletmeleri A.Ş ranked 287th, and Maren Maraş Elektrik Üretim San. ve Tic. A.Ş ranked 494th.
Kipaş Mensucat, with approximately 6,000 employees and the only company in the ISO 500 list among cotton textile producers in the top 100, has an annual fabric production capacity of 80 million meters and a daily yarn production capacity of 330 tons. Alongside weaving, open-end and ring yarn production, it also produces fabric dyeing-finishing and denim fabric.
Our cement production factory, along with 14 concrete plants operating in 7 provinces with a total capacity of 33,000 m³/day, is a strong player mainly in the Mediterranean region, Kahramanmaraş, and surrounding provinces. KÇS Kipaş Çimento, which was ranked 306th last year, rose 19 places to 287th in the 2020 list.
Kipaş Kağıt Sanayi İşletmeleri A.Ş, which employs about 1,000 people and ranked 214th on the list, produces recycling-based Testliner and Fluting paper at its facilities in Kahramanmaraş. Additionally, packaging products serving the textile, furniture, glass, and water sectors are produced in Kahramanmaraş. Kipaş Kağıt also owns a corrugated cardboard facility in Bozüyük, Bilecik.
The Batı Kipaş Paper Factory investment, located on 658 acres in the Aydın Söke Organized Industrial Zone and valued at 550 million dollars, which will significantly reduce Turkey’s paper imports, is nearing completion. The massive facility is planned to produce approximately 730,000 tons of paper annually and aims to begin production as soon as possible. Regarded as one of the world's leading paper factories in terms of technology and capacity, the plant will also generate its own energy. The factory’s treatment plant has been completed, and it will primarily produce paper types currently imported by Turkey.
Kipaş Kağıt will make its third investment in the Aydın Söke Organized Industrial Zone, producing over 600,000 tons of Testliner, Fluting, and packaging paper.
Regarding the group’s success on the ISO 500 list, our Chairman of the Board M. Hanefi Öksüz stated: “As Kipaş Holding family, we enter the ISO 500 list among the top ranks every year. While Kipaş Holding includes the most companies from Kahramanmaraş on the list, this year we ranked first among textile companies in cotton textile production in Turkey. We will soon put into operation the new facilities of Batı Kipaş Paper Enterprises, Europe’s and Turkey’s largest paper investment, located on a 320,000 square meter site in the Aydın Söke Organized Industrial Zone.” Our Chairman added: “With this investment, we will cover Turkey’s 550 million dollar current account deficit caused by paper imports and provide employment for one thousand people. We continue our investments and employment in other sectors as well. In Kahramanmaraş, we are commissioning a starch factory investment and new modern weaving facilities for Open-End and recycled textiles. I extend my deepest thanks to all Kipaş family employees who contributed to this success.”
